Do you want to make a difference in the community? If so, the East Alabama Medical Center Auxiliary may be the place for you. Serving as a volunteer at EAMC is a rewarding experience that provides many opportunities for you to learn and grow while providing valuable service to our patients and staff. If you are a newcomer to this area or are recently retired, we would be happy to talk with you about the Auxiliary.
Since 1952, the women and men of the EAMC Auxiliary have helped East Alabama Medical Center achieve its mission of high quality, compassionate health care. Our Auxiliary volunteers come from all walks of life and reflect the diversity of our community. In addition, the Auxiliary has a corps of Junior Volunteers, which is comprised of young men and women of high-school age.
A new area of service is the EAMC Foundation. The Foundation welcomes your volunteer efforts in special events and fundraisers, in being a Foundation Ambassador within your business or civic organization, or in occasional office assistance. EAMC Auxiliary volunteers staff the information desk, deliver newspapers and magazines to patients, help in the waiting areas, and assist patients and visitors as they move from one area of the hospital to another. Listed below are other areas in which Auxiliary members serve.

Dues are $10/year for active volunteers ($15/year for inactive). Additionally, volunteers must purchase a uniform jacket (available in the Liaison’s office) and follow the dress code outlined in the manual, which volunteers receive at orientation.
