Frequently Asked Questions From Stork Bytes Visitors

Q: Why can’t I find a baby that was born yesterday?
A: For security purposes, we only post the baby web pages after the mother and baby have been discharged from the hospital.

Q: So when should I expect to see the baby’s web page?
A: Typically, mothers and babies are able to go home 48-72 hours after the child is born, in such cases, the baby’s web page should be accessible within 24 hours. If a mother and/or baby have to stay longer, it will be 24 hours after the last one leaves. Please allow an additional day over a weekend.

Q: I have had my Internet on Stork Bytes since the time the mother and baby left, but I still don’t see the baby’s web page, why not?
A: Because Stork Bytes (or any web site that changes regularly) won’t automatically update without “leaving” the site and coming aback, the site will need to be ”refreshed” periodically. To do so, just click on the “refresh” button, which usually has a “recycle” icon on it.

Q: Why does my friend’s baby only have one picture?
A: Mothers can choose between one or two pictures, therefore the second square is empty sometimes.

Frequently Asked Questions From Parents or Parents-To-Be

Q: I’m expecting a baby soon and would like to use this service. How much does it cost?
A: There is no charge; this is a complimentary service provided by EAMC.

Q: Should I have safety or confidentiality concerns?
A: Patient safety and confidentiality are our #1 priorities. We do not use last names, and the page is simply linked to our web site, which IS NOT part of our patient database. PLUS, we do not post your baby page until AFTER you and your baby have been discharged from the hospital. Sorry, there are no exceptions. The only information listed is that which you provide on the authorization form.

Q: How many pictures will appear on my baby’s web page?
A: Either one (1) or two (2) pictures will appear on the screen. The top picture is of the baby by itself, while the bottom picture is typically of the baby with the parents and/or siblings.
