Family, friends and clergy are welcome to visit. However, patient care is our primary concern; therefore, specific visiting hours and regulations have been established for each unit. Visiting hours are from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. If you need additional information, please check with a nurse on the unit.
Critical Care Areas (CVICU and ICU) Visiting Hours

The units observe quiet time from 2-4 p.m. with no visitors.
Only two visitors per patient, please!

Guidelines for Visiting
- Visitors may not smoke anywhere on the EAMC campus, to include the main campus as well as the off-site campuses. On October 1, 2010, EAMC enacted a Tobacco Free Policy for all patients, visitors, employees and physicians. To learn more, click here.
- Visitors must dress appropriately and must wear shirts and shoes.
- No more than two visitors are allowed at the bedside at one time.
- People with colds, sore throats, or any contagious illnesses should not visit patients.
- Visits should be kept short, and visitors should maintain a quiet environment and avoid making unnecessary noise.
- Visitors may be asked to leave the room during tests or treatments, or when the doctor or nurse needs to see the patient.
- All visitors should wash their hands or use alcohol-based hand sanitizer BEFORE and AFTER their visit. This is to protect both the patients and the visitors.
There are specially designated lounge areas for visitors on each patient floor and on the main floor in the lobby. Specific waiting areas have been designated for families of patients in the critical care units, the emergency department, and surgery. During certain hours, volunteers are on duty in the surgery waiting room to keep family members informed about the progress of surgery.
Accommodations for relatives and visitors from out of town are available at nearby hotels. Various national chain hotels are located near I-85 and along Pepperell Parkway/Opelika Road. Consult the local telephone directory for additional information, or ask an EAMC employee for assistance if needed.
Unless there are special restrictions prohibiting children from visiting, we recommend that children visiting the hospital be at least 12 years old. Because young children can easily catch and transmit colds and other illnesses, it is best for them and for patients if you allow them to call or send cards and photos to cheer up a loved one.
Plenty of patient and visitor parking is available throughout the EAMC campus, including our parking deck, which offers 609 parking spaces near the Main Lobby. The 1st level is reserved for SeniorPlus members, members of the EAMC Auxiliary, area clergy persons, and persons who are handicapped. Cars parking on this level must display the appropriate license plate or tag hanging from their rear view mirror. The other three levels are available for general parking. Parking for patients and visitors is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Please be sure to lock your car. If for any reason you need assistance with your vehicle, please call Security Services at extension 1349 or dial “0” for the hospital operator.
Our gift shop is located on the 1st floor, next to the Main Lobby. It is open from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m., Monday – Thursday; from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday; from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday; and from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday. The gift shop has balloons, greeting cards, flowers, plants, candy, toiletries, magazines, jewelry and other gift items. You may call the gift shop at 334-528-1248 (extension 1248 within the hospital).
